  • vray 2 problem? 2.4 buckets are smapling nothing, but still taking time...

I am working on a new, clean, neat scene...but when doing some initial renderings, v-ray is spending a lot of time "sampling?" against the black background.
There is no geometry there, no BG image, no environment maps, etc.

V-ray usually does not do this and I can't seem to find anything out of the ordinary in my settings or materials.
Actually, I am just using a material override and no lights or shadows enabled.

Is this a problem, or do I have a setting I should look for?
I am going to try merging to a new scene next...
    Thanks

All set, It was a BB job going on I forgot about. As soon as it finished, this behavior stopped.

    Hi,

This issue is expected because the BB job takes most of the PC resources. What about if you run the BB job using the option "Low thread priority" then you should be able to get more resources for another rendering process.
Or try to decrease the priority bi hand from the Task manager/Processes right click over the 3dsmax.exe (created by BB) and set the priority to "below normal".

Hi and thank you. Yes, I remember the low-priority, but had forgotten I was using BB at first.
I almost always have low thread priority checked in max, but also must do it manually for a BB job.

      Thanks again
