  • Interpolation maps registered

I am rendering an animation at the moment and some interpolation maps have crept in to my scene as I can see it doing 2 extra prepasses.
I have run every script out there to turn them off but there are still 5 interpolation maps that are registered in the vraylog but the materials that the interpolation is on doesn't get printed in the vray messages.

Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

Another thing, there are no VrayfastSSS or VrayfastSSS2 materials in the scene..

VRay Material Control script is very useful in such situations since it could turn off interpolations on every material in the scene.
Have you also checked Multi/Sub-Object materials or VrayBlendMtls - sometimes FastSSS materials could be hidden inside those materials making them hard to find.

We could provide further assistance if you could send us the scene for investigation.

        Thanks Svetlozar,
I use VMC all the time but the interpolation maps are still there somewhere.
The scene I have is massive. There are far too many materials to go through them individually.
It would be nice if there was a way to turn interpolation off globally.

If you set the message log level to 4, you should be able to see the materials that registered the maps. Or you can check the vraylog.txt file directly.

Vlado I tried that already and all it tells me is that there are 5 interpolation maps registered.
The vraylog.txt tells me the same.

Having been in this exact situation a few too many times, as well, I would also like a global override for it, if possible.

Hmm which V-Ray version? In my build it also lists all the materials by name.

                    Hello

do you have a xref -scene attached ?

I suspect, that VMC changes materials only in the main scene.

                    Kind regards
                    Alex

                      Hello Alex,
There are no xrefs in the scene.
There was initially but everything was merged in to the main file.

What about sending us the main file with everything deleted.
You could run Get All Scene Materials from Slate Material Editor > Material Menu and delete everything from the scene.
This command will collect all materials into Slate Material Viewer and we will be able to check them even if everything else is removed.
