  • UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: Rendering region (2640,3744)

    Hello,
When trying to render a file under Vray 2.4 after vray 3, I got this message:
[2014/M/19|12:32:58] error: UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: Rendering region (2640,3744)-(2664,376
    Last marker is at ./src/globillummap.cpp, line 1658: GlobalIllumMap::buildLightMap() {5}

The region render is not activated, neither in max UI or in VFB.

How can I render a scene that was save with Vray 3 in vray 2.4 trouble free?

Can you check if you left the image sampler to "progressive" when you saved the scene from V-Ray 3?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Yes, the scene was save with progressive mode .
I can't really revert, it is problematic because it means that I need to reinstalled Vray 3.
I fight all week end to get my small farm up. I'm almost there after 3 days and reverting again to Vray 3 may arise a lot of new issues I'm afraid.

      Is there another workaround?

Of course, simply change the image sampler to f.e. Adaptive DMC in V-Ray 2.4 before rendering.

          Thanks,
In fact when reverting from 3 to 2.4, it sounds like the uninstall / reinstall process is not clean.
On top of the vray toolbar to remain, I got a blank position in the image sampler rollout.
So the adaptive parameters are accessible while the rollout was set to "blank"
I used the last vray 2.4 version available , however it looks like there is a mess somewhere in the vray 2.4 installation.

This is a bug in 3ds Max - there is no way to uninstall a toolbar. You will have to hide it manually.

I got a blank position in the image sampler rollout.
Do not leave it to blank - this is what is crashing it. Set it to "Adaptive DMC".

            No, I don't think so...
