  • Pflow Proxy shape instance

    Hi all

Few years ago, before things like forestpack was widely used, I use to use a pflow to scatter some dummy objects and then a script to align my proxy to those dummy objects. I did this because you were not able to use a proxy as a shape instance. It's been couple of years since then, but seems you can STILL NOT use a VRayProxy as a shape instance in a Pflow. Or am I just missing something? (Well you can but it renders whatever display preview you set the proxy to)
This is on Max 2014 and Vray 2.4

Is it a max issue or a vray issue?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

If you want to use PFlow to scatter arbitrary objects, including proxies, you should take this up with Autodesk.

Other than that, it is on the "to do" list to automatically create instances for regular meshes used as instances in PFlow, but we haven't had time to look into it yet. I hope that it will make it into the first service pack for V-Ray 3 in a few months.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Anybody have any tips or perhaps a script that will automatically clone and align my proxy to the dummies when the pflow changes?
I know it takes 5 seconds to delete the old proxies and just clone and align AGAIN, but would be nice if I can skip this 5 seconds, especially if I have a lot of these situations. All the 5 seconds adds up
      Kind Regards,
