max 2015 crash when open max 2014 scene

Hi,

I try max 2015, but it crash on opening my max 2014 scene. Scene is little bit complex (forest pack, lots of objects and polygons), but in max 2014 open without any problem. And I dont think problem is in max, but I have no way to figure it out.

There are a few things to try:

*) Remove the 3rd party plugins, including V-Ray, and see if it opens;
*) If yes - add the plugins one by one until you figure out which one is a problem;
*) If it still crashes, try switching to DirectX and opening the scene again.

Let me know how it goes. Depending on what happens, we'll figure out what to do next.

I have a bad news:

I install max 2015 without any plugins and try to load a scene. And it worked. Then I install Forest Pack and it still worked. Then install VRay 3.0 for max 2015 x64 and max crash.

What about switching to DirectX?

In any case, can you get me the scene to vlado@chaosgroup.com so that we can fix this as soon as possible?

I I had the same problem, I opened 3dmax, (I use as default and ENH.as Workspace ....) after installing vray and maxwell 3, ... when I opened 3dmax it crash.. I uninstall V-Ray and Maxwell, and when I opened 3dmax, I set default workspace ... then I set the workspace D & E and only after I installed the plug-in and so I resolved. ... I hope this can be of help

Try running this script. It helps sometimes in files with old vrayproxies.
