  • Glass cubes question about refraction

    Hi-
I am getting a strange brightness in my glass. I have stacked cubes made of thin sheets of glass and they are hollow on the inside. I have the glass blocks on a detailed floor, but I also tried rendering on white and I still have the problem. Using Max Design 2014 and Vray 3.00.03 Any suggestions on material settings? thank you!

    What is your refraction depth?

    Best regards,

Looks like I left the refraction depth at 20. What's a good # to use? thanks

Generally Max depth 5 should be enough for most of the cases, but for scenes that has a lot of refractive/reflective objects this value can be increase to get better quality. Just keep in mind that this will increase the render time a lot.

I fixed the problem by unchecking the Exit Color tick box. Now my glass cubes are clear.
