  • Vray 3 VrayFastSSS2 dark outlines around object edges

    Hi,

    i have a snow scene where i got two objects that are vertex-tight next to each other, but not attached together (can not do that due to the point cache) and when i use VrayFastSSS2 snow material, i get dark outlines around the area where the objects join. I am using simple mode. Raytraced mode is not an option as it takes ages to render.

    Any help would be really appreciated.

    EDIT: Raytraced mode does it as well

    EDIT2: Setting multiple scattering to anything else than raytraced solves the problem, although i am not sure if it would flicker in animation....

        Yeah, i can, but it will take some time. I am already screwed, as other solutions flicker as hell and i missed deadline due to this. :/

            We did some changes for the next service pack in order to prevent such SSS render artifacts in Multiple scattering - Raytraced mode.
