  • VRayMtlWrapper and Vray 3.0

    Hello,

I used to use this method of Matte shadow and reflection for studio scenes. Now on Vray 3 I cannot get reflections to work on my floor material no matter how high I have the reflectivity on the base material.

I'm I doing something wrong here...it used to work all time.

    I would appreciate any assistance.

    Thanks,

Its currently busted. There is another thread about this on the forum somewhere. At the moment you have to do a separate pass using a vray dirt map change the type to reflection occlusion

There is a bug with Matte-Reflections in version 3.x which hasn't been fixed yet.
We are working on that regard, hopefully we'll have a solution soon.

Just found a way to make this to work with shadows again. Instead of having a standard material in the Base material slot on the MtlWrapper, use just a Vraymaterial and then you have the shadows on the plane again as well as the alpha. But you can not change the color/brightness to the Bounce light with this. But it works for me at the moment until it fixed.

Standard Material is no longer supported in VrayMtlWrapper, please avoid using it as a BaseMtl.
The bug that we have in matte-objects is mainly related to the reflections, shadows must be catched with no issues.
You should be able to control the Bounce Light via OverrideMtl for Global Illumination.
