The scene preparation, especially the step "Building static raycast accelerator" takes much longer on machines with more cores.
Our Xeon dual 8 core renderslaves are usually 1.5 times faster than the dual 6 core ones. But the scene preparation takes twice as long as on the slower machines.
We have noticed this especially on heavy scenes with more than 10 mio. polygons. Is there a way to optimize this? Thanks!
