  • LightCache slow at startup.

    Hello everyone.

I have a problem with lightcache this the beginning of the calculation goes very slow and is calculated without advancing. After a few minutes forward quickly.

He has gone before in other projects. I could not find how to correct this.

    regards.

    Hi,

I don't think that there is an issue here, but it will be better to send us the scene file to check it out.
Do you get constant CPU usage during the Light cache calculations?

If you have displacement or proxies, or fur - it takes a bit of time to generate or load the required geometry. The same goes for tiled textures.

        hi vlado.

Thanks for getting involved in this.

Currently I have a large retail store with 450 m2 proximal full of clothes.
        There are about 1400 proxies.

In addition to some 400 Instanced IES lights.

It is a dense project and as little time to optimize.

Any comments to help speed up the process?
Post the file tonight for analysis.

If the proxies are on a network drive, you can try copying them locally. If they are already local - then not sure, will have to look at the file.

          Best regards,
          Vlado

If you are on a network file server with GIGA TEEN FULL DUPLEX. I transfer 150 MB bidirectional.

Locally I have an SSD that goes to 300 MB, but I am sure it collapses.

I've thought about buying a PCI-E SSD Revodrive.

            Greetings.
