  • Light Cache different in one scene but ok in an variation of it...SSS problems?

    Hi,

I have a huge problem, with a deadline coming closer:

I have a bottle with a liquid inside, using SSS for that. For two purposes I am using IM and LC for GI.
    1. Speed
    2. Light cache somehow gives me a different result when compared to Brute Force. With LC the bottles and liquid have that translucent bright feeling, with BF they seem like there is almost no refraction..very dark. I found that strange but thought since LC is faster anyway, I will stick to LC, but when creating this new scene something happened...
(Scratch that. That wasnt true. I guess my eyes and mind are going crazy now..sorry!)

Now here is the huge problem:
In one scene LC is properly calculating and rendering. In the other scene, same materials, same lighting, different models and different camera, it is stuck forever. I waited a whole night and it didnt finish.
The new models are clean remodels of the bottle and liquid.

It seems to be a problem with the SSS material but since one scene rendered fine I wonder what is happening.

I uploaded the two scenes (simplified) on my Dropbox account.

Could someone take a look please, I am really desperate?

Thank you so so much for any help as always!

    Manuel

Here is the difference. But I found the solution. Its of course not the problem with SSS Material but with my model. Rather to say: the material is a bitch when it comes to unproper modelling! It seems there were overlapping polys and then everything will look different. Have to be really careful about it!
