  • Distributed rendering Node not getting license - Vray 3.0

I am unable to engage the RN license for my node.

This is my setup on NODE:
    1. Open "Change V-Ray client license settings" and enter IP address of the workstation (192.168.1.101 port 30304)
    2. Register V-Ray spawner service.

This is my setup on Workstation:
    1. Open "Change V-Ray client license settings" and enter (localhost port 30304)
    2. Register V-Ray license service

I can render with the workstation fine, but as soon as I enable DR in settings menu the workstation uses both GUI and DR license and the Node fails to render.
    What am I missing?

You need a seperate render node license for the DR node
Your workstation uses the GUI license in the interface so you can work and it uses the Render License for Rendering. If you exclude your local pc from rendering then the DR node will render
    Kind Regards,

As far as I can tell my dongle contains two licenses. 1 GUI and 1 RN..

Yes which means you can ONLY RENDER on 1 pc. You only have 1 render license
The GUI license has nothing to do with rendering. The GUI license is just so you can work in max, see and adjust your settings etc. As soon as you click render, the Render Node kicks in

So, everything is fine except i'm really pissed off at the reseller.

          Call him in the morning.

          Thank you Morné.
