Light Select

I Have a strange problem. I am using the light select element, but it seems to be ignoring some bushes I have in my scene. I am using the light select for my V-Ray Sun and it is working, but my bushes are black. Nothing is being excluded, so I am stumped. I did add the bushes after I added the light select, which was the only thing I added after; recreating the light select didn't make a difference.

Yep! They were standard materials; I forgot to check.
