  • Proxy Mapping Issue

    Hi guys,
I have a tree mesh that is part of a 3rd party library collection. For some reason on this particular mesh the mapping becomes massively scaled when I convert it to a Vray Proxy object. In the pic attached the diffuse colour is set to pink, in order to show that the mapping applied (green checker) is actually working. I have tried resetting the X-Form, removing UVW mapping. I also made a box and then attached the tree mesh to it - but the same problem occurs.

Initially the tree had a bark bitmap, and after making a proxy it looked like one corner pixel was scaled across the whole object.

If anyone can shed some light on what is going on with this mesh I would appreciate it. Using Vray 3.00.07 Max Design 2014

There is a scale factor in the proxy settings. Could that be it?

I don't think so Bobby - that effects the physical size. In this case the mapping scale goes weird. The original mesh with all the leaves had some vertex shading going on (if that makes a difference)

Every now and then something happens with System Units that does something like this where I change my system units mid project or import something from another scene that had different units. Kind of grasping at straws but it did spring to mind?

reset xform on the object before you convert it to proxy, alternatevly make sure there is no uv sets that are nested or anything of that nature. You can export the geometry to obj and import it back (it will effectivly reset everything)

Thanks for the replies. As I mentioned earlier -I did reset the Xform and deleted any UVWs. I will try the OBJ option
