  • Proxy Rendering Issue

    Hi guys
recently a colleague had a scene where proxy objects render with strange artifacts - as you can see in the image attached. This occurs in orthographic views, but renders correctly in perspective views. I have tried another new scene with proxy objects, and ortho views render OK. There is something about the scene attached. If you look closely you can see this weirdness around the edges if the render buckets, along with the geometry edges. BTW the reason for rendering in ortho is for colour elevation views.

Uhm does the artifacts appear when rendering on the local machine only ?

And when you zoom in and out does the lines disappear ??

If it was that easy, it would have already been done

these appear whether DR is on or off. It is not related to zooming the display in the frame buffer. It is probably a bit hard to see what I am talking about in the attached image - but it is most noticeable in the branches of the tree. The light cache seems to render pretty clear, but the effect starts to be noticeable from the Irradiance pass onwards.

Ah .. sorry I was testing with our internal night builds (it's not reproducible with them) + the fact there is a known issue about "bucket outlines" when the VFB is not zoomed at 100% while rendering, so I thought this is the problem. Sorry again - it's really a bug, I will post here as soon as I have more info about it !

          Hi Peter,
not wanting to let a computer beat me - I did some more investigation into this. It turns out that there is some camera motion blur affecting only the proxy if it is in an orthographic view - even when it is meant to be turned off. See images attached...
