  • Weird reflection movement issue with DR

    Hi

I am hoping someone can help with this.

I am rendering with the latest Vray 3, Brute force, LC and for some reason my Pc is pushing my reflections to the right, or my node is pushing them to the left. Either way they do not line up.
It seems to be keeping the geometry right but not the light. I worked through my lights and materials and all textures are set to the right path \\

    Any ideas ?

    Cheers

    Hi,

    It's a very strange result.
Are there any textures or maps added to the glass material reflection slot ?
Would it be possible to attach a scene to test with?
    Thank you.

What kind of an object is the mirror? Try putting an Edit Mesh modifier on top of it and see if it helps.

Thanks for the replies, its actually the angled sides of a bookcase , I exaggerated the reflective glossiness to emphasise what was going wrong. I eventually rebuilt the bookshelf last night and that has got rid of the problem ? I am still as confused as I was when I started though as the bookshelf was just a series of extrudes from a editable poly box !!

Thanks again for trying to help.

Ok, glad it's sorted out; it's a strange issue that I've seen before - sometimes the vertex normals are computed differently on different machines and I'm not sure why.

          Best regards,

            Thank you for your update.
If you keep the original geometry, you can send it to us and we will try to find what causes this issue.
