Has there been a solution to the horrible VFB focus, or lack of (will not stay ontop)? It is very inconvenient, to say the least. V-Ray 2.4 in 3DS MAX 2015

Under what circumstances the VFB stays at the back?
Can you give us an instructions how to replicate it?
I've just run a quick test with version 3.00.07 but VFB always pop up when the render button is pressed.

I am not using 3; it's happening in 2. It's not all the time and it seems that if I click the Restore Down button in MAX, I can keep the VFB on top.

It stays on top when 3DSMax is Maximized(full-screen) or when it is in window-mode?

          Hello,

Just a thought: do you have 3dsmax' progressive display enabled ? I've found in the past that having this option ON leads to problems with VRay VFB display after rendering. Not sure it's still the case though ... worth trying

          Regards.

Was just about to post with the same error, then saw this thread.

Having exactly the same problem. Seems to be fine while rendering, but won't stay on top when the render is completed.

Using latest version of VRay and Max 2015 SP2

[update] Seems to only happen in large/heavy scenes. Didn't happen on a simple one I just rendered out.

Is there any chance to send us one of those scenes for investigation?
FTP could be provided if needed, just let us know at support@chaosgroup.com

After moving to max2015 and vray 3.x, I'm seeing this issue only when certain other "tools" are open, specifically scripted tools with an UI.
I use Gavyn Thompson's GTVFX tool all the time and have it open on my second monitor. This will guarantee that the VFB hides behind max when rendering unless I click some other visible window that is not either the VFB or the rendering progress window. Usually I just tap the Slate editor while rendering to get the VFB to pop back over max.
