  • Vray proxy & Ink 'n Paint

I can't remember if this was an issue in the past, but in v3.0 I'm finding if I apply a 3dsmax Ink 'n Paint material to the scene geometry, and some of the objects are proxy, 3dsmax will crash when the buckets land on the proxy and try to render. I can try and isolate the issue further if no one else can reproduce.

Reason for using Ink 'n Paint instead of VRayToon was to render lines between materials (flat plane with two different materials). It's the Mat ID option within Ink 'n Paint that I'm finding useful. Currently I'm rendering all types of passes to layer, Ink 'n Paint, VRayToon, and VRayToon with maps (which is awesome).

    cheers

This has never worked and unfortunately we can't make it work. Ink'n'Paint can only work with regular 3ds Max meshes.

    Best regards,

Ah ok, no problem. Maybe in the future VRayToon can incorporate a few extra features to control lines, like through material ID and smoothing groups. If it wasn't too complicated to implement. Of course, getting vray to be VR capable is more important

      thanks
