  • Vray Frame Buffer Renderelements to Subfolders

    HI there,

i wonder if its possible to save Renderelements to separate Subfolders when using the Vray Framebuffer like the option
    in Vray for Maya.

Or maybe there is a usefull script to do the trick without using max standard output.

    Best regards

I guess it should be simple to write a quick post-render script to do the moving to folders after the rendering finished. ALl with the assumption post-render-scripts run when writing output is fnished.
    Software:
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
    3ds Max 2016 SP4
    V-Ray Adv 3.60.04

    Hardware:
    Intel Core i7-4930K @ 3.40 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (4096MB RAM)
    64GB RAM

Hi björn, your options are to either use a post script like Art48 said, or to disable the V-Ray frame buffer and use a script to automatically set the paths in the render elements, for example based on the output path set in the max file output under Common, which you would need to use then.

I prefer the second option because this will allow you to change EXR settings per render element as well, e.g. change bit depth or add an alpha to the beauty only.

      Also see this thread:

Unfortunately Max (and V-Ray) is very limited when it comes to this.

Changing output files per render element would be a really nice addition to the VRayOutput Paths.
