  • Why saved images do not look the same as in VFB ?

How do I ensure that my saved PNG image file from the VFB will look the same as when I bring it into Photoshop ?

The image always comes into PS lacking contrast and flat.

I have sRGB turned on, I save with and without Gamma 2.2 or 1.0 (whichever looks closest).

It's as though the Correction Curves I apply in VFB or the Color Mapping isn't baked into the image.

    Any suggestions ?

    Many thanks.

disable sRGB and it will look the same or go to gamma settings and from that drop down make it 1 on top and type in gama at 2.2.

      Thanks Darius,

      But it's not that.

It's like I play with my Curves and exposure adjustments etc in VFB, then I save the image, and no matter what setting I put into the Gamma, it will come out less contrast in Photoshop. (when I have chosen the right way to go with gamma).

Often I work in LWF, but sometimes I go Exponential, or Reinhard.

How you save the file? If you want to keep vbr settings I think u need to save from VBR itself not let max autosave it.

On top of that vbr adjustment settings are just quick previews, u should really do the grading in ps/other software.

I've worked it out.....of course.... VFB works in 32bit..... saving to EXR will retain the look from VFB.....

Thanks for your help Darius, questioning how I saved (to PNG) which of course is only 16bit....
