  • VRay Lens Effects don't work for me

    I have tried on two projects now to use Lens Effects and nothing happens in my VFB.

    If I click on "Update Effect" in the effects panel (VRay Lens Effects is Active, Bloom is checked etc etc) - all that happens is;

    the "Currently Updating" progress bar doesn't do anything, Max's Frame Buffer opens with a blank image inside it............

    Is this a bug ?

    I am using the latest version of VRay - 3.00.08 I think it's called.

    (3DS Max Design 2014).

    (Definitely NOT working - this has been tried on a Learning-VRay Exercise file as well, which is already set up to use Lens Effects).

    We have recently changed a thing about VRay Lens Effects - now when you render with VFB you need to enable and set the Lens Effects through the VFB controls. Click image for larger version

    VRay Lens Effects settings from Environment And Effects panel ( are ignored when Enable built-in frame buffer is on. This way they could be better adjusted as part of the post process.

    Is this your case?

    Best regards!

        There also was a case that Object ID and Material ID was ignored in Lens Effect via VFB. Was that fixed?
        The workaround was to set it up via Environment And Effects...
        This is a signature.

          This case is still under development. We will inform you as soon as we fix the Object ID and Material ID in VFB.
