    Crashing for no reason; where to start. I did the whole reboot and merge. Where else should I look? I did undo what I did the last time it worked, so I don't think it is the file. UGH!!!

    Hunch! It's Microsoft Patch Tuesday so, time to see what Microsoft did to me. I had a similar issue last month, which was the video card driver.

      You might look in the event viewer for windows to see if there's any weirdness going on in there. I had a similar problem to yours recently and it was a RAM chip going bad.

        That was one of the first places I looked. I think I am better now; I uninstalled the video driver, rebooted, and let Widows install the default driver. This same thing happened last Patch Tuesday.
