  • Backburner error with 'enable viewport shading' in vraylights [solved]

Just wanted to share this piece of information
we had a lot of "3ds max adapter error: 3dsmax.exe process no response"
errors on the backburner, and with a lot I mean almost every job.

I traced it back to ’enable viewport shading’ in vraylights. turning that off made the error go away.

btw, is there any official place to log bugs ?

Which 3ds Max version is this? Which Windows version on the render slaves? We have not generally observed this issue and if you can get us a scene where it is reproducible to support@chaosgroup.com it will be very helpful.

The forum is as good a place as any for reporting bugs.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

max 2015 design with Ext1 / sp2 on windows 7 across the board (slaves and workstations)

I had it reproducable from a clean empty scene with just a vray dome light with 'enable viewport shading' checked.
now I want to reproduce it again, and I don't get the error anymore ... this is nuts.
the only thing changed between then and now is the switch for our renderfarm ...

and how could a switch produce a "3ds max adapter error: 3dsmax.exe process no response"

      will investigate further.
