  • Random bug :(

    Hello
We're facing come crazy random bug, we can hardly isolate ... please check the enclosed cropped images to see the weird result ! FYI, the others renderings took about 1h30, whereas the bugged ones took between 8 - 9 hours !! We've ran the failed renderings again, and no problem ... I hate random bugs

    We're working on 3dsmax 2014 x64, VRay 3.00.07.

Do you guys have any idea about what could be causing that ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Regards.

    Hello,

Do you happen to have 3ds Max Standart materials in this scene ? Also if you look at the pixel info in these green areas - is it some normal value (0.0 - 1.0) or some huge number ?
I've seen similar random artifacts with a scene with lots of standard materials.

    Best regards,

      Hello Yavor,

I'll check that with my coworker who has worked on this scene and tell you
      Thanks for the suggestion.

Are you storing an Irradiance Map? Could it be corrupted or using the wrong map?

          Hello Dave,

You mean a pre-rendered IrrMap saved on disk ? if so, no
We had to switch on several other projects, so this problem is on my to-check list ! I'll try to get more infos about it.

          Thanks.

use the vray scene converter to get rid of any standard or architectural materials. I have had a similar issue happen to me before.
