VRay 3.1 Max 2012 crashes when switching image sampler

Max 2012 crashes (Application Error) every time I changed the image sampler with this scene. Just some teapots, sun and Vray plane. Actually Max crashes with any scene, not just this one.

Intel i7-4771

I just installed 3.1 with Max 2015 Design and I do not get a crash when switching the image sampler. So this error only occurs with Max 2012 on my workstation.
