3dsmax Extension 2 with Vray not starting

I installed 3dsmax SP3 Extension 2 on a few machines this morning. I also updated to the latest Vray 3.10.02.

On one workstation, I can't get Max to start. The viewport quadrants come up, but they stay blank. The grid never gets drawn in, and max just hangs in this almost-started state.

If I uninstall Vray, Max will start just fine.

Can someone help me troubleshoot? Like I said, it's just on one machine (which is almost brand new and has been working fine since it was set up a few weeks ago).

(Note: I tried resetting the user profile folder and that didn't help).

update -- the license server needed to be restarted as a result of my updating vray on the license server computer. This brought the workstation back online.

However this still seems like a problem. A license issue shouldn't crash max. And there is no problem on the other workstations.

Right, just installed EXT 2 myself and it looks like there are quite a few issues to get through, like the DR issue that bhh posted in the other thread.
