VraySkinMtl with VrayMtlWrapper

  • VraySkinMtl with VrayMtlWrapper

    Hello,

    when i use a VraySkinMtl with a VrayMtlWrapper it renders always black. Anybody else has this problem? I'm using V-Ray 3.10.02. It works with V-Ray 3.00.08.

      Thanks for confirming! I guess there is no fix or workaround for this yet?
      Is there an alternative? I have one skin material and need to plug it into several pins of a multi/sub-object in 3ds Max. The problem is that every pin needs to have it's own name because of a 3rd party plugin issue (the mesh is generated by the plugin). I would not like to copy the skin mtl for every pin because it would be harder to adjust the values. In V-Ray 3.00.08 i could just have the skin mtl plugged into multiple mtlwrapper with different names and plug every mtlwrapper to a pin of the sub-object. Is there an alternative for the mtlwrapper? I was thinking about using the blend material with just the base material pinned but would it generate some performance issues?

        You can try with VRayOverrideMtl.. I think it's the lesser evil (compared to VRayBlendMtl)
        If it was that easy, it would have already been done
