  • VRayEnvironmentFog Question

    Hi all,
I've made a road tunnel with 6 lights per section, I just want to add a little volume or fog around each light, problem is the fog is filling my whole tunnel. I started with a CylGizmo that surrounds the tunnel, but it doesn't seem to matter what parameters I reduce the fog just fills it rather than sitting around the lights.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Elliiot

This is close to how real fog works, as that would fill a whole volume and not center around the lights. The fog you see is the part that is illuminated by the lights.

You could try increasing the fog distance parameter so it becomes less dense, as well as increasing the tunnel lights intensity. Then decrease the very bright light that seems to come from the outside as that seems to be lighting up most of the fog.

Alternative you could use the volume light effect as that really just places fog around the lights (and does not darken the rest, as real fog does). I haven't used that in ages though, I don't know if it works with V-Ray lights or not.

      Hey Rens,
That worked, I had a stray light in the middle and as it was set to 'use all lights' this caused that one to blow out the scene.

      Thanks.
