  • CarPaint shader behind transparent material

    Hi there,

    i`m stucked with this one.
See the attached picture. i`m having a carpaint material onth epen body and a regular vraymaterial on the cap.
Somehow it`s not passing through the reflection as you can see as a comparison the pen behind has a regular vray material on the pen body and it`s working correctly there.
    Some kind of tips?

Either on glass material set the channel to all or use refraction component to get car paint data.

In the "Global switches" section of the V-Ray settings, enable the "Override depth" option for a moment and set the depth to more than 2, the switch this back off.

It is on the "to do" list to add trace depth to the car paint material.

      Best regards,
      Vlado

I've also added a trace depth control for the car paint material for the next nightly/stable builds tomorrow.

        Best regards,
        Vlado

Awesome! Vlados "cheat" is working! ...sometimes a global limit option does exactly the opposite chhhh (i make a bet i would never had tried that one) thanks vlado for the quick response!
also dadal thank you, i was also on that route already, cause that little thingie often did the trick in the past.
