  • VrayDomeLight HDRI with Skylight Portal problem

Hi all, i have 1 VrayDomeLight with HDRI, 2 Vray Plane Light and 2 Vray Sphere Light set up in this scene,
after the first render i found that the scene is dark which i don't like, so i decide to put Vray Plane Light and at the window and turn on skylight portal,
but when i click render, i found out that the skylight portal has made my scene more darker and changed my GI color,
i have attached the Vray GI passes for your understand:

That's interesting, could you confirm that you do not have a light on the window when the output is brighter.
Also would it be possible to send the scene to support@chaosgoup.com so we could investigate further.

From what I can see behind the window the background color is black, so when when the ray pass through the window it hits the black background color when the portal light is there and the dome light when the portal light is not, and probably this is the reason because the end result is darker with the portal light.
Try to place the domelight texture into the environment map slot, or if such texture is not applied just use the same color in environment color like the one in dome-light.

We had some issues with portal lights and dome lights when they were used together. We have a fix for this coming in the nightly builds and the next SP.

            Best regards,
            Vlado
