  • lightcache and regions on rendermask

im not sure exactly why, and no time to test, but when i render a scene using rendermask (of the glass, to get the interior elements) the lightcache takes about 2 mins to calculate.

ive since needed to fix small areas within that render, so ive been using the region render button in the vfb to select small bits of the rendermask to rerender.

some of these tiny areas take 10 -15 mins to do the lightcache calculation.

no idea if its a bug or not.

I was surprised and impressed that light caching (secondary) seems to cut in properly when doing a small region to re-render. We were doing some multi language stuff, and I was able to just re render the signs and paste them over the English version. I was expecting that would flicker (I even rendered much bigger to feather the stuff in). Kudos to Chaos for that...

We did not have the slowdown, though...

Would it be possible to send us the scene for investigation?
