im doing some tests, 3.1.10 and with a paths/pixel of 800 i get a pretty clean render.. that was with the noise threshold on 0
i then realised that i was probably missing out on some rendering efficiency, as it would continue sampling all the pixels until the end, even if they were clean.
so i tried introducing a noise threshold.. first of 0.01, then down to 0.005. i get a really noisy result in the hardest to clear reflective areas. and for the same rendertime, a much worse result.
this is with sub pixel mapping and clamp output set to 1.
surely the noise threshold shouldnt do this?

note timestamps are wrong.. 800 paths rendered for 5 mins. noise threshold 0.005 i set to render with a 5 min limit to match.
