  • can´t get rid of splotches at the ceiling

    hi,
i have a reduced to the min scene here. maxdesign2015sp2/vray 3-10-03
i woul´d like to know where the splotches at the ceiling come from ( max region) .
no lights in scene, 2 materials.
you can´t see them at 1600 pixel, but at 4960 they come along.
irrmap subdivisions at 100, interpol samples at 40.clamp output set to1.
they should not be there ...i´m lost, i have no further idea.

    thanks for help

Try using the light cache as a secondary GI engine, and also add a bit of offset to the texture to avoid having pure black colors - try setting the "RGB offset" parameter in the Output section of the map to 0.1, for example.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

If the issue still persist please reattach the zip file again ("splotches.zip" seems to be invalid) so we could have a look at the scene.
      Or send it to: support@chaosgroup.com

LC didn´t help much, but the offset got it a little better...maybe we can only see it less than before )

splotches. zip is a .rar file...sorry for that,...i could not upload .rar files...please rename to .rar

...also if i want to edit my post, i can´t see any text in the text field. it´s empty ???

          Hi,

The Irr. map Color and Noise threshold are quite high in this setup. You can try to lower them both to 0,1 for an example.

It happened for me a few times and the solution was to Logout > Login.
