  • Urgent problem - Render mask / Selected not working over BB

    Hi Vlado,

    we have a big animation we need start rendering and i came across a bug.
    I am trying to send a BB job with vrays RENDER MASK se to SELECTED.

    When servers pick the jobs up, they all halt with a pop up that THERE ARE NO VALID OBJECTS SELECTED.
    It seems like MAX doesnt send the information about objects being selected at all.
    When i click OK on the pop up box, the render stops.

    Is there a known workaround please?
    Were in a big time crunch and rendering selected would be a life saver here.

    I am running the latest stable nightly, MAX version is 2015 SP3 and i also installed the latest BB.

    The "selected" mode does not work with backburner(3ds Max does not keep the selection when the scene is saved); you will have to use one of the other methods to specify the list of objects.

      Sorry for my lack of knowledge Vlado but what woudl those other methods be?
      Can i find them somewhere in the online manual?

        You can specify objects for the mask using an include/exclude list, a layer name, or an object ID. I'm guessing that an include/exclude list would work for you.

        I can swear that this was added to the help index, but it looks like it might have been dropped between revisions - will make a note to add it.

              You can also perfectly use Layer mode, no problem this way

                Selected does not work... think about this way... if you save a model while you have something selected it does not open back up with the objects selected. The same thing is happening on your renderfarm.
