Dark buckets with Vray DR but OK with Backburner stripes

I can't seem to figure this out. On any scene I render with DR, I am getting dark buckets on my slave. But if I send the render through Backburner, and do as stripes so the master and slave render a few each, both machines match in colors, texture, brightness, etc.

Any thoughts? I do have the same software versions, plugins, etc installed on each machine. I am using UNC paths and have my drives shared as well.

Can you post some render images to see the difference?
Does it occur without GI ?
