  • Exclude objects from VRayRenderID?

I'm doing an interior room that is looking through a glass wall. The problem is that the RenderID pass renders as a solid color (glass wall), however I want to be able to tweak elements in the room. Aside from running two separate renders, is there a way to exclude the glass wall from the RenderID pass?

    Thanks.

I am not sure there is a way to exclude objects from VRayRenderID render element but have you tried to set the Affect Channels option from the Refraction Layer of the glass wall to All Channels?
That option certainly helps when working with MultiMatte Render Elements but I am not sure whether it is taken into account by the VRayRenderID one.

I tried setting Affect Channels to All, but that didn't do it. I also tried that for reflection. No luck. So my work-around is to hide the glass wall, and re-render an ID pass with GI turned off to speed things up since I don't care about the beauty pass. Thanks.

It seams that you are right, the Affect Channels is not taken into account from RenderID element.
However it is still possible to get masks of the object behind the glass on a single pass via MultiMatte element and Affect All Channels of the Glass-material.
