  • Convert to vray mesh doesn't seem to create the material

We haven't been using vrayproxies for some years because of the hassle of setting them up, and also our systems (with itoosoft) seem to have coped quite well without them. However, I thought I would give it a try with a scene that is giving me problems.

When I right click on some geometry (a bush in this case) and select 'VRay Mesh Export', there is now an option to 'Create a Multi/Sub Object Material'.

"Great!" I thought, as this was always an annoyance in the past as proxies have no materials when you bring them into a scene.

However, it doesn't seem to do anything: the proxy still has no material, and there is no mtl file created in the same place as the proxy.

    What am I doing wrong?
    Kind Regards,

Have you got the "Automatically Create Proxies" tickbox on?

This will convert your object to a vrmesh and put the Material on the proxy.

Nope. I didn't know I had to do that. The option should be greyed out or something if it isn't possible.
