  • VrayLightMtl power limit

Hello, Is there a power limit regarding the vraylightMtl?
Attached is a room of 8mx20mx3m H and 100 bulb mesh with a vrayLightMtl assigned to it.
Doesn't matter if I put 10 or 100000000, the render return the same!
emit light on backside and compensate camera exposure, doesn't change anything.

If I replace the mesh by a vray Light Bulb (instanced), the render time goes from 10s to 1 minute!
If I create a Vraylight mesh out of the bulb mesh, it doesn't aligned properly (all bulb are attached to 1 single mesh)

    Thanks

you cant use the "direct illumination" setting on a light material inside a multisub material.

you are getting a 10s rendertime because its not doing any lighting cacls.

    you need to either

*have a mesh with only that material on
*use without "direct illumination" and use BF gi
    *use vraylights

to be honest in the end, vraylights might be your fastest rendering option - the vraylightmtl without direct illumination will be fast, but if your lights are small in relation to the space (they look it), you will have noisy bf gi, and will need ages to clean it up.. same goes for imap, the smaller the vraylightmtl objects, the blotchier the imap.
