    Hi,

I got a scene where I set up a light that is great but makes one nasty reflection-Line on one of my object which I don't like.
Is there a way to make an object (a box or something) and align it accordingly that this one reflex is gone but the rest of the image stays untouched?
Basically light a shadow maker but for reflexes.

I've tried the object properties already with everything off other than "Visible for refl/refr" and "Renderable" - no Luck, itr doesn't seem to do ANYTHING.
    Software:
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
    3ds Max 2016 SP4
    V-Ray Adv 3.60.04

    Hardware:
    Intel Core i7-4930K @ 3.40 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 (4096MB RAM)
    64GB RAM

Duplicate the light. Uncheck affect reflection in one of the lights, and enable only reflection in the other (no diffuse or specular). Then Exclude your object in the light with affect reflection checked.

Edit: Make sure that the light are not exactly on top of each other. Move on very slightly.

Edit: If the object creating that reflection line is an object and not a light, use the reflection exclude in the object properties instead. Select the object where the line appears, and exclude the object that creates it.

      Hi,
      Thanks for that info.
Sadly it's not that easy since I need the lights reflection and specular component on the object, but just on a certain part I don't. In photography I would use a black paper and put it there for an extra exposure I take and later on comp it in.
Now in CG there has to be a way to do this without having to render a second image.
