  • Dr and missing maps.

this has probably been discussed a million times.

ive got 2 render slaves. both have my 2 main work drives (on main workstation) mapped identically.

    one renders with no textures.

file has all textures mapped correctly.

ive tried removing the drive mappings on the problem machine, and allowing "transfer missing assets" to do its thing, and vice versa, disabling "transfer missing assets" but no change. i can even see it transferring the maps in the messages window, but the machine still renders with no textures.

edit: im using the vrayspawner as an application, as ive had issues in the past as a service.

ok please ignore this thread (or delete it to be tidy)

the missing maps were due to missing multitexture plugin on the issue machine.

i was reminded by submitting the job via backburner to that machine.. it gave me a warning. be good if DR did the same.

Thank you for updating the thread with the solution you've found.
Unfortunately DR rendering errors related to missing plugins are not printed in the log window so far. I'll check if we can do something about this.

        Hello,

To avoid this kind of problems, I suggest to use the [Include] feature in plugin.ini, to include an additional plugins path for all your machines (for "little" plugins, simple .dlo/.dlu/.dlm). This is really efficient to maintain all of your workstations and nodes at the same level, and obviously to update globally these plugins ... you can check 3dsmax help file for more details on this little-but-useful feature

Yes, this is a good option to edit the Plugin.ini file and maintain all render nodes plugin data.
Otherwise you have to check the Max log file for errors like that: Missing dll: ......
