  • GI flicker never goes away

After paying for several upgrades recently for my studio I still run into GI flicker issues that are really disappointing for animations. I've been trying to work my around them for so many years now I've really lost count. Hoping Brute force and LC will just work now with a simple client animation of furniture moving around in a small room with no ceiling, 1 dome light and 1 large vray light, it's still such a dramatic flicker mess.

I just don't understand why this is an issue anymore. I'm tired of researching and just want something that works without a bunch of fuss.

But the Blackhawks just lost, so I guess I'm pissed and still working.

Have you enabled the Use Camera Path option ? You can also deactivate Store direct light & Use light cache for glossy rays, if they are checked.
Furthermore setting more the Subdivisions and lowering the Sample size will also help to prevent such issues.

Get V-Ray 3.2, use Brute Force + Light Cache, and set the light cache as described at the bottom of this page (where is says "Avoiding flickering in animations"):
        http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/V...nginanimations

Those settings removed any flickering in all scenes that I tried, both interior and exterior ones, with and without moving objects and/or cameras.

        Best regards,
