  • created proxy has flipped faces.

ok so i was probably being too ambitious having seen the new proxy export options, that i could just select a bunch of objects and export them to a single proxy without issues.

i did this for clusters of sofas, kitchen islands with stuff on them, etc etc, to populate a load of rooms.

the resultant proxies have flipped faces all over the shop.. its either whole objects or whole elements that are flipped. never single faces.

i was able to fix them by ticking "show whole mesh" and painstakingly flipping the faces back, but obviously then i have no benefit from using a proxy in the first place.

Can you get me an example of this to support@chaosgroup.com (I mean the original objects that when converted flip over)? I don't think I've ever seen this happening.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

This actually sounds like you have a normal map texture fed into a regular 3dsmax normal bump map. Those pesky proxies need this to be a VRayNormalMap.

Hmm...reading this again more closely makes me think I jumped the gun. This should only affect your rendered result, not the mesh it self when imported back in.
