  • Max2016 VRay3.2 Hair & Fur: Crash on render

I upgraded a scene from Max2015 to Max2016 using VRay3.2. It rendered fine in Max2015.

The scene renders in 1.5 minutes with Hair&Fur hidden, but will lockup on "transform vertices" or crash all together with it unhidden. Below is a screenshoot of some of the settings. I reduced it down to one eyelash.

Switching from mr prim to geometry allows it to render. Is that the "correct" way to have it function now?

No. The correct way is to use the "mr prim" mode. Would be best to get us a scene to support@chaosgroup.com to debug.

Okay, I have no idea what changed but I loaded the scene back up, switched it back to mr prim, saved (so I could send it to you) and rendered.....and now it's rendering. Lossing my mind. Apparently, muttering "Vlado" is all it takes. Sigh. I'm going home.

        Thanks Man!

Ok then; if it happens again, please send the scene over.

There are some fixes in the latest nightly/stable builds, yes.
