  • Exposure Correction Vray -

I recently had a little problem using our renderscenes on a renderfarm and i would like to get this solved so here is the problem. It seems that the Exposure Correction in the latest version works a bit different than before. I get quite different results rendering the scene in VRay 3.10.03 and VRay 3.20.02 when exposure correction is activated. The same settings produce different renderings and i am going through some troubleshooting with the renderfarm guys. So could anyone at chaosgroup can confirm that the calculations of the exposure correction works different in the latest vray version or is there any other problem/bug going on?

    render using 3.10.03: http://prntscr.com/7hlc5y
    render using 3.20.02: http://prntscr.com/7hlce1

its the same scene and no settings have been adjusted, here is the scene with exposure turned off:

render using 3.20.02 but with exposure correction turned off: http://prntscr.com/7hlcp6

this is not a problem, we can render it without the exposure correction, just wanted to check if this is a bug or something else that went wrong...

The contrast correction in 3.20 works differently - it preserves the black and white points of the image and it's more sensitive. Value of 1.0 now means maximum contrast, whereas in previous versions values over 1.0 had to be used for a strong contrast correction.
So to get similar results to previous versions, you should decrease the contrast a bit.
