  • DR - BB - Buckets show different result

    Hello dear vray-users

I recently ran into some serious problems regarding BB-Rendering with DR.
Mostly my main workstation and 2 slaves are involved for rendering.
I could check which of the machines gives strange result; sorry haven't done it yet.
All computers have the same vray-version installed (3.10.03).
Has anybody encountered the same issue before?

    Yeah...

Setup Render Elements to check what is being affected. Use a VRayDRBucket element to see if it's a specific machine that's causing the issue.

Are you using 'Transfer Missing Assets' ?

I've run into bucket issues when I didn't have the same version of Vray installed by mistake.

This looks like 3DSMax Bitmap node issue which has been widely discussed on the forums, where Bitmap node sometimes load textures with different gamma settings.
The easiest way to fix that is to convert all Bitmap nodes to VRayHDRI ones via Bitmap to VRayHDRI script that comes with V-Ray.

This is a issue with 3DSMax 2014/2015 not sure if it persists in 2016.
What 3DSmax version you are using now and what is used when the issue didn't appear?

            Hello Svetlozar

I see. Here we're using 3D Max 2014 SP5 and Vray 3.2.02 and light our interiors with Vray Dome Lights.
Well somehow I managed to ged rid of the strange buckets thanks to your tip about converting all bitmaps to VrayHDRI-maps.
