  • Composite nodes are super slow in Slate

I like doing things a bit more procedurally when texturing and I love compositing nodes on any 3D software. But Max seems to hang at any time that I try to update a node, change a parameter in the Slate window with this particular material with composite textures. It's like pulling teeth and I was wondering if anyone else has had trouble with composite nodes and slow Max.

    Which Max version?

    Best regards,

Sorry. I'm using 2014. We are waiting for another upgrade soon.

Vray is updated to the latest version.

It's slow in the old mat editor too, 2014.

Oh. Is this just a general Max issue or a Vray issue? I guess I didn't check because I really couldn't imagine such an important part of a 3D program just being broken.

          EDIT: SOLVED

Having having thought about what Deflaminis had said about the Material Editor, I figured it was a Max issue. I turned off the Show Material button on the Vray material and it stopped hanging after every change of property. I still don't know if this is a max or vray issue but I'm not sure I really care.

Reading a post from Vlado in another thread (Titled: So Slow) it would seem that the color correct node has speed issues in general until max 2015. (AD bug from what I understand.)
