  • Trace Sets selections not keeping the selection after hitting OK.

Hi! I'm trying to use the Set Selections, it is a wonderful tool, unfortunately it is not keeping the selections on the list of exclusions, I select, add to the list, hit OK, then go back in and they selected objects are not there anymore. I have changed their names recently, but that was before trying to do the selections. Just thought I mention it just in case.

let me add this does not happens with all of the objects.... I'm trying to exclude some only, and in some objects the list takes effect, in some other objects the list resets to nothing after I hit OK.

definitely is broken... I added 6 spheres in a freash scene. On the first sphere it let me exclude 5 objects, on the 2nd 4 objects, on the 3rd 3 objets, on the 4th 2 objects, and on the 5th 1 object, and on the 6th nothing...

So I guess it can be declared as deceased on arrival? Any way to setup these exclusions with a scrip so they actually work? I could really use this feature right now...

        Thanks!

Yip, it's broken. Also in Max 2015.

You can use the MaxScript commands vrayAddTraceSets, vrayRemoveTraceSets and vrayGetTraceSets; there's some more information here: http://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY3/MaxScript#

Other than that, there seems to be an issue for objects that are of the same type. So the 6 spheres above seems to be a problem, but there's no problem if you create six different primitives. It might be some Max issue, not sure. Will look into it.

              Best regards,
