  • Vray 3.2 Exposure controle

    Hi,

I am using 3ds max 2016 and vray 3.2. My scene has a physical camera and a vray sun. Everything renders out as white. The exposure control and camera settings appear to have no effect.

Could somebody give me a step by step break down on how to adjust the camera exposure. The old vray camera worked perfectly.

    Thanks

The exposure could be controlled either from EV values of the Exposure Control too or through the Physical Camera itself.

If you intent to use Exposure tool make sure that Ignore Per-Camera Exposure is selected and adjust EV value:

If you would like to tweak the exposure from the camera tweak its EV value and make sure that Exposure Tool is set to Use Per-Camera Exposure:

EV value of 15 and good starting point with default V-Ray Sun/Sky settings.

      Thank you.

      I actually figured it out.

In Physical Camera Exposure control: Use Per Camera Exposure.

In Physical Camera/ Exposure: Exposure gain to Manual and set the ISO to 100

and it behaves more like the old camera.

      Thanks again.

        Hi Svetlozar.draganov:

I've done some testing to compare new Physical cam with old VrayPhysical cam.
Both camera settings are the same: Iso = 100, Shutterspeed 180, F numer 8.
But new camera renders out a bit brighter...why?
