Hi all,
We recently changed from 3ds max 2011 with V-Ray 1.5.x to 3ds max 2015 with V-Ray 3.10.03.
Most of our renders come out nearly the same as they did before, but one object/material has some problems.
We opened the file in 2011 and rendered, then saved the max file. Next, we opened the max file in 2015 and hit render. No settings were changed.
I have attached renderings of both the 2011 / 1.5 and the 2015 / 3.1 below. The one with the striping is the 2015 version.
It's a VRay2SidedMtl with a VRayMtl in the Front slot. Back material is "None." Translucency is "None." Multiply by front diffuse is unchecked. Force single-sided sub-materials is checked.
The VRayMtl does not have any maps.
I can provide Chaos Group with sample files, if needed.
Additionally, we are interested in making this look a little less "splotchy" than the 2011 version looks. If anyone has any ideas how to correct the stripes and make it less "splotchy" in 2015 / 3.1, that would be great!
Thanks,
Tim
