  • DR : trying to select different slaves for different Max instances

So I have 2 copies of Max (2016) open and 1 is already rendering using DR (using 3 of my 6 slaves).

I then switch my other 3 slave computers on and with the second Max file try to select just those 3 new slaves to carry out the render for the 2nd Max file that is open. Render 1 will stop, it seems that the slaves I select in Max file 2 affects what is Max file 1 uses also.

I could use the above technique before 'on the fly' DR selection was added to Vray 3 - is there a way I can still achieve the above?

We need some more information in order to troubleshoot this further.
Please open "Distributed rendering" settings in your scene, and make sure that the option "Restart servers on render end" is not checked. This is important in order to keep the log file from the next job.
Then start rendering and when the job is done, go to the problematic render node machine and send us vraylog.txt file from there. It can be obtained in User's Temp directory. The file can be easily accessed by
typing %temp%/vraylog.txt in Windows Explorer address bar.

Also please send us vraylog.txt file from the machine that initiate DR job.
